Hemorrhoids Treatment Herbal Alternatives

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common problems of men and women on their middle and late ages. Characterized as the swelling of veins around the rectum and anus areas, hemorrhoids do not cause serious problems except for the occasional itching and bleeding. However, this does not mean that this disorder should be left untreated because hemorrhoids can lead to fatal health problems like colon cancer. With this risk, it is important for individuals with this problem to have some hemorrhoids treatment as early as possible.

There are lots of cures for hemorrhoids found in the market nowadays. Besides these commercial aids, however, there are also some herbal treatments which can also be used. If you want to know what these are, one example of a hemorrhoids treatment is by using comfrey with vegetable oil. The powdered moistened comfrey should be mixed with the vegetable oil and applied as paste into the affected area.

External Hemorrhoid Treatment

Another good hemorrhoids treatment is taking capsulated psyllium to help with easier bowel movements. This treatment can also be mixed with water if preferred. Hazel is also another alternative for an expensive hemorrhoids treatment. To use this, the affected area must be wiped with a cotton pad soaked in witch hazel. Witch hazel is considered as the best to use because it is one of the most commonly used ingredients in commercial treatments.

Its soothing and cooling components also help give relief to itching and irritation problems. Aloe is also a popular treatment. This plant can be taken internally to act as a softener of stools or it can also be applied directly in the affected area. If it will be taken internally, powdered aloe available in local drugstores should be used. A cut leaf from an aloe vera plant, on the other hand, is the one used for external application.
